KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in parts of Karachi today, with mostly cloudy skies expected to persist over the city during the next three days.
According to the Met Office, humid conditions will continue, while intermittent rain and drizzle are likely in several areas.
Cloudy weather to continue
The PMD said Karachi’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 31°C and 33°C on Sunday.
Southwesterly sea breezes were blowing at around 11 kilometres per hour, helping maintain cloudy conditions across the port city.
The department also forecast drizzle during the morning and night hours on Monday and Tuesday.
Monsoon system affecting Sindh
The weather department said a low-pressure area over Rajasthan has weakened further, while monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea continue to influence weather conditions across much of Pakistan.
As a result, rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in several districts of Sindh, including:
- Tharparkar
- Umerkot
- Mirpurkhas
- Badin
- Sanghar
- Khairpur
- Tando Muhammad Khan
- Hyderabad
- Matiari
- Ghotki
- Sukkur
- Jacobabad
- Shikarpur
- Qambar Shahdadkot
Rainfall recorded across Karachi
During the past 24 hours, light rain and drizzle were reported in several parts of Karachi.

According to the PMD:
- Gulshan-e-Hadeed: 4.5mm
- Surjani Town: 4.0mm
- Gulshan-e-Maymar: 3.4mm
Light drizzle was also recorded at:
- Jinnah Terminal
- Old Airport
- Korangi
- North Karachi
- Several other localities
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious during rainfall, particularly in low-lying areas where water accumulation may occur.
