Hasnain Nadeem hits 121 as Khalid Usman and Shahnawaz Dahani claim five-wicket hauls on day two

Hasnain Nadeem, Khalid Usman and Shahnawaz Dahani produced standout performances on the second day of the fifth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I on Wednesday.

Hasnain scored a century for MIT Solutions, while Khalid and Dahani impressed with the ball in matches played across Abbottabad, Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Hasnain leads MIT Solutions

At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, MIT Solutions resumed their first innings at 186 for eight, with overnight unbeaten batter Hasnain Nadeem on 87.

The opening batter went on to complete his century and was eventually dismissed for 121 as MIT Solutions were bowled out for 223 in 63 overs.

Hasnain struck 18 fours and one six during his innings, while Mohammad Farooq contributed 56.

OGDCL responded with 193, with Rohail Nazir top-scoring with 52 off 110 balls, including seven fours. Ali Zaryab made 47, while Mohammad Sarwar Afridi remained unbeaten on 43.

Khalid Usman was the pick of the MIT Solutions bowling attack, taking six wickets for 23 runs. Mohammad Ismail claimed three wickets.

MIT Solutions secured a 30-run first-innings lead and reached 29 for one in their second innings by the close of play.

Dahani shines for SNGPL

At the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Kingsmen Academy were bowled out for 217 after resuming their innings at 31 for one.

Mohammad Shayan top-scored with 66, while Mohammad Ilyas added 36.

SNGPL pacer Shahnawaz Dahani claimed five wickets for 61 runs, while Shehzad Gul took four wickets for 48.

SNGPL then made a strong start to their reply, reaching 140 for two in 35 overs at stumps.

Test opener Azan Awais was unbeaten on 53, while former Test captain Shan Masood was not out on 45. The pair had added 81 runs for the third wicket.

PTV dominate Ghani

At Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, Ghani resumed their first innings at 67 for seven against PTV and were dismissed for 102.

Test fast bowler Haris Rauf claimed four wickets for 45 runs, while Israr Hussain and Kashif Ali took three wickets each.

PTV responded strongly, reaching 324 for four by the close.

Taimur Khan narrowly missed out on a century, scoring 97 with eight fours and five sixes. Yasir Khan made 71, while Mohammad Ammar remained unbeaten on 80.

Khurram Shahzad took two wickets for Ghani.

KRL struggle against SBP

At the Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar, play finally began between Khan Research Laboratories and State Bank of Pakistan after the opening day’s action was washed out by rain.

SBP won the toss and elected to field.

KRL struggled against the bowling attack and finished the day on 127 for eight after 46 overs. Saqib Khan was their top scorer with 35.

Mohammad Abbas and Shahid Aziz claimed three wickets each for SBP, while Sirajuddin took two.

The four matches will continue as the teams look to strengthen their positions in the fifth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I.
