Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian faced an unusual situation when his official vehicle broke down mid-journey, forcing him to complete his trip in a private taxi.
According to details, the president was traveling to Tabriz with his convoy when the vehicles stopped for refueling at a petrol station in Qazvin. Shortly afterward, three vehicles in the convoy abruptly stalled. A technical assessment revealed that the petrol was contaminated with water, which caused the engines to fail.
Instead of waiting for local authorities or alternative security arrangements, President Pezeshkian reportedly arranged a private taxi himself and continued his journey to Tabriz.
Sources say that the petrol station in question had previously received complaints about selling water-contaminated fuel. The Iranian National Oil Products Distribution Company has confirmed the contamination, raising serious concerns about why the station was still operational despite prior warnings.
As of now, neither the Presidential Office nor the Ministry of Petroleum has issued an official statement regarding the incident. However, the event has sparked public debate around fuel quality control and the government’s oversight on such critical infrastructure.
