Field Marshal Asim Munir held key meetings with China’s top political and military leadership during his official visit to Beijing, reaffirming the commitment to deepen Pakistan-China defense and strategic cooperation, promote regional stability, and confront shared challenges.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission General Zhang Youxia, Political Commissar of the PLA General Chen, and Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Cai Zhijun.
During the discussions, both sides emphasized strengthening bilateral defense ties, counterterrorism efforts, defense technology collaboration, joint training programs, and institutional exchanges. They agreed on the need to further enhance operational coordination and strategic synchronization, particularly in the face of hybrid and cross-border threats.
The Chinese leadership expressed full confidence in the Pakistan-China defense partnership and acknowledged the positive role of the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting peace and stability in South Asia.
The meetings also included discussions on ongoing CPEC projects, the regional and global political landscape, and the principles of mutual sovereignty and multilateral cooperation.
Field Marshal Munir thanked China for its continued support and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding military cooperation across all domains. Both nations reiterated their resolve to advance their “iron brotherhood“—a strategic partnership tested and strengthened over time and evolving regional dynamics.
