Qatar Questions Iran Over Missile Attack on U.S. Base

Iran claims self-defense after missile attack targets U.S. base in Qatar, assures friendly ties will continue.

Doha: Qatar has officially summoned Iran’s ambassador in response to the recent missile attack on the U.S. military base “Al Udeid” located in Doha.

According to the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serious concerns were expressed over Iran’s actions, and Tehran was reminded of the importance of respecting Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In response, a spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that the strike was carried out under the right to self-defense in accordance with international law. The spokesperson emphasized that the intended target was American forces, not Qatar or its land.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Majid Takht Ravanchi, also reassured Qatari officials that Iran remains committed to peace and stability in the region. He reiterated that Iran values its brotherly relationship with Qatar and hopes to strengthen diplomatic ties further.

This incident follows recent U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, which prompted Iran to retaliate by launching missiles at the U.S. base in Qatar. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties or significant damage in the strike.
