Tribal Chief Among 11 Arrested in Chilling Honor Killing Case in Balochistan

Balochistan Government Takes Strong Action Following Viral Video of Couple’s Murder

In a horrifying case of honor killing in Balochistan, 11 individuals have been arrested, including a prominent tribal chief from the Satakzai tribe, in connection with the brutal murder of a married couple.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced on social media platform X that all suspects have been identified and legal proceedings are actively underway. He stated:
“The state stands with the victims. No one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands. All perpetrators will be brought to justice.”

Following the circulation of a disturbing video of the incident on social media, the government took immediate notice and registered a case. Police raided the Satakzai House and arrested the tribal chief, Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai.

Meanwhile, leaders of the Sarawan tribe expressed strong reservations over the arrest, claiming that detaining a tribal elder based on suspicion violates traditional tribal norms.

According to government spokesperson Shahid Rind, data of the individuals identified in the video was sent to NADRA for verification, confirming the identities and tribal affiliations of those involved. However, full details are not being disclosed at this stage.

The action is being seen as a significant step in the fight against honor-based violence in Balochistan and has been widely praised by human rights activists and social media users alike.
