China has expressed its opposition to U.S. involvement in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, emphasizing its stance against the use or threat of force in international relations.
According to China Global Television Network (CGTN), Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning addressed the issue during a daily press briefing, responding to a Bloomberg report regarding a possible U.S. attack on Iran. She stated that the current situation in the Middle East is highly sensitive and volatile, with a growing risk of escalation.
This is not the first time the U.S. has escalated tensions with Iran. Trump’s warning to Iran over nuclear ambitions had already stirred global concerns in recent years.
“China firmly opposes any actions that violate the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and infringe upon the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of other countries,” the spokesperson said.
Russia has also expressed concern over growing U.S. involvement in the Middle East. Read how Russia warned the U.S. over regional tensions.
She added that the international community, especially influential major powers, should maintain a neutral and responsible stance to help create conditions for ceasefire, dialogue, and negotiations. This, she said, would help prevent further deterioration of the regional situation and avoid a potential large-scale catastrophe.
