Written Exam Sees Thousands Compete
The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the final results of CSS 2024, one of Pakistan’s most competitive civil service examinations. A total of 15,602 candidates appeared in the written exams this year. Out of these, only 397 candidates passed the written stage, reflecting the highly selective nature of the examination.
Final Qualification After Viva Voce
Following the interview (viva voce) process, 387 candidates were declared fully qualified for appointment. Among them, 207 are men and 180 are women. The overall success rate stood at 2.48 percent, consistent with the traditionally low pass rates for CSS exams. This demonstrates the rigorous assessment standards applied to ensure only the most capable candidates join Pakistan’s civil service.
Recommended Candidates for Appointment
The FPSC has recommended 229 candidates for appointment, including 119 men and 110 women. These appointments are considered a key milestone for aspirants aiming to serve in various federal government positions across Pakistan. The recommendations follow a thorough evaluation of candidates’ written performance, interviews, and overall merit.
Significance of CSS Exams
The CSS examination remains one of the most challenging competitive tests in Pakistan. With tens of thousands of hopefuls vying for a limited number of positions, the exams are a true test of knowledge, analytical skills, and composure under pressure. Passing the CSS not only opens doors to prestigious federal roles but also positions candidates as part of the country’s administrative backbone.
The FPSC emphasized that the results underscore the importance of preparation, dedication, and consistent effort. For thousands of aspirants who did not qualify, the commission encourages them to continue striving for excellence in future examinations.
