Pakistan Army Denies Any Talks with PTI Founders: DG ISPR

Military Spokesman Clarifies Army’s Neutral Stance in Politics and Rejects All Backdoor Contacts

Rawalpindi – Pakistan Army spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has categorically denied any form of negotiations or backdoor communications with the founding members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI). In a recent interview, he made it clear that the military has no involvement in political dialogue and is not interested in political mediation.

“The position of the armed forces is crystal clear: we only engage with the state, and the state is represented by the elected government of the time,” he said. “It is the responsibility of politicians to communicate with one another. The military should not be dragged into political matters.”

DG ISPR emphasized that the Pakistan Army operates under the directives of the federal and provincial governments. The military is deployed for public security only at the request of the concerned government—whether it’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or Balochistan.

General Chaudhry also firmly rejected Indian propaganda, specifically claims that the people of Balochistan do not support the military. “This is a strategic misconception,” he stated. “The people of Balochistan stand with Pakistan, and the armed forces have their full support.”

He concluded by saying, “We are united like a rock on both internal and national fronts, and we will not allow any kind of external or internal propaganda to undermine our national unity.”
