Jhelum: Acting on special directives from District Police Officer Tariq Aziz Sandhu, the Dina Police have arrested a suspected drug dealer and recovered 2.1 kilograms of charas during a joint raid conducted by SHO Dina and his team.
According to police sources, the suspect has been booked under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and formal legal proceedings are underway. The operation is part of a broader crackdown on drug trafficking in the Jhelum district.
In his statement, DPO Tariq Aziz Sandhu said that drug dealers are a menace to society, especially responsible for pushing the youth towards destruction. He affirmed that the Jhelum Police are actively pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
He also appealed to the public to support the police by reporting drug-related activities in their communities so that this societal curse can be completely eradicated.
It is worth noting that the Punjab Police, particularly in the Jhelum district, have intensified operations against drug traffickers in recent months. Multiple FIRs have been registered across police stations, including Dina, and substantial quantities of illegal drugs have been seized. These actions are a key part of an ongoing campaign to protect the younger generation from the dangers of narcotics.
