Rawalpindi: The Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, has made key revelations regarding the prison life of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, clarifying that he is being provided with all facilities under ‘B-Class’ prison status.
According to the jail official, the former Prime Minister enjoys access to a range of privileges, including daily exercise, walking in the courtyard, LED TV, books, newspapers, and even an exercise cycle. He has also been assigned a designated prisoner-cook, who prepares his breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to his personal preferences.
Interestingly, the superintendent noted that the facilities provided to Imran Khan exceed those typically available to other B-Class prisoners, giving rise to a perception of special treatment. He further disclosed that since his incarceration, Imran Khan has issued 413 posts on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), including political instructions for his party workers.
Over the past three months, 66 different individuals have visited the PTI founder in jail. These included party leaders, lawyers, and family members. Jail doctors also conduct regular medical checkups, and no illness or physical condition has been diagnosed so far.
The jail administration has emphasized that Imran Khan is in good health, exercising and walking for up to two hours daily in the open courtyard. He has also remained in contact with both local and international media at various times.
Refuting ongoing media rumors, the superintendent labeled them as baseless sensationalism, stating that no discriminatory treatment is being given to the former prime minister.
It is worth noting that Imran Khan is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail under various cases and continues to guide his political party from behind bars. The government and jail administration have repeatedly clarified their stance on the treatment being provided to him.
