Post-Mortems Completed and Families Notified

ISLAMABAD — Doctors at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) have completed the post-mortem examinations of all 12 victims of Tuesday’s suicide bombing outside the G-11 district court. Earlier coverage of the incident can be found here. The bodies have now been handed over to their families.

Among the victims was lawyer Zubair Aslam Ghumman, whose death has drawn widespread sorrow within the legal community.

Hospital officials confirmed that all victims were identified quickly. Meanwhile, 13 people are still receiving treatment in various wards. One of them remains in critical condition.

The explosion struck a busy area of the capital on Tuesday morning. It killed at least 12 people and injured over 30 others. The attack has once again raised fears of renewed militant violence in Pakistan’s major cities.

Security on High Alert Across Islamabad

Following the blast, the government increased security nationwide. In Islamabad, checkpoints were reinforced, and the Red Zone — which houses key ministries and embassies — was sealed off to non-essential movement.

Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar inspected security measures at the Islamabad High Court. He ordered additional police vehicles at every entrance. Moreover, officials have restricted the public from gathering near the court.

Police patrols now cover major intersections and government buildings, ensuring tighter surveillance and quicker response times.

Global Condemnation and Official Reaction

The attack drew immediate condemnation from the United States, China, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and Qatar. Each country expressed sympathy for the victims’ families and wished the injured a swift recovery.

According to Pakistan’s federal government, investigators have collected strong evidence linked to both the Islamabad and Wana incidents. Officials plan to share these findings soon at international forums.

Growing Concerns Over Rising Violence

The G-11 bombing is part of a growing wave of attacks across Pakistan. Security experts warn that militant networks may be regrouping.

Authorities have promised stronger counterterrorism efforts and improved coordination among law enforcement agencies.

For now, Islamabad remains under strict security as the city mourns the victims of one of its deadliest attacks in recent years.
