Faisalabad: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has alleged that the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly deliberately prevented newly elected members from taking the oath, in violation of clear court orders.
Speaking to the media in Faisalabad, Talal Chaudhry claimed that today the KP government and its Speaker openly defied court directives. He said the excuse of a lack of quorum in the Assembly was fabricated in a pre-planned move to delay the swearing-in of members.
He added that this was part of a broader scheme to sabotage the upcoming Senate elections, describing the move as a serious constitutional violation that is being repeated in KP.
Talal Chaudhry also praised the performance of local administration in Faisalabad and Jaranwala during the recent heavy rains, saying that authorities remained active and ensured the safety of lives and property.
He further alleged that the founder of PTI consistently brought wealthy individuals into the party for transactional politics, and similar tactics were being used in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to sell assembly seats.
Commenting on a recent controversy, he said that the biggest scandal in Pakistan’s history had emerged from Kohistan, and all its beneficiaries belonged to the same political group.
