Pakistan has qualified for the final of the Nations Hockey Cup after a dramatic victory over France in the semi-final.
In the tournament’s first semi-final, Pakistan edged out France in a penalty shootout after the match ended in a 3-3 draw during regular time.
Afraz, Sufyan Khan, and Rana Waheed each scored one goal for Pakistan in the shootout, securing the team’s place in the final.
France had taken a 2-0 lead by the end of the second quarter, but Pakistan responded strongly in the third quarter, scoring three goals to take the lead. France equalized in the final quarter, sending the match into a penalty shootout.
Earlier in the group stage, Pakistan defeated Japan, drew 3-3 with Malaysia, and narrowly lost 4-3 to New Zealand. With a better goal average, Pakistan advanced to the semi-finals.
