Abdul Razzaq to Lead Veteran Pakistan Squad
The Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association has announced the national squad for the upcoming IMC Over-40 T20 World Cup 2025, naming former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq as captain. Former Test batsman Fawad Alam has been appointed vice-captain, while legendary cricketer Javed Miandad will serve as the team’s mentor.
The 18-member squad features several renowned names from Pakistan’s cricketing past, including Shahid Afridi, Zulfiqar Babar, Humayun Farhat, Sohail Khan, and Tabish Khan. Their inclusion brings significant experience and balance to the side, reflecting Pakistan’s depth in veteran cricket.

The announced squad includes Abdul Razzaq (captain), Fawad Alam (vice-captain), Shahid Afridi, Zulfiqar Babar, Humayun Farhat, Sohail Khan, Irfan Mushtaq, Adnan Baig, Mohammad Ali, Tabish Khan, Shehryar Ghani, Nadeem Javed, Atif Maqbool, Javed Mansoor, Hasan Nasir, Mohammad Suleman, Tariq Mahmood, and Imran Ali.
Jalaluddin, a former Test cricketer and one of Pakistan’s earliest hat-trick takers in ODIs, has been appointed head coach, while Azam Khan will serve as the team manager.
Tournament Details
The Over-40 T20 World Cup will begin on 21 November 2025 in Karachi and will continue until 1 December. The event is expected to feature veteran teams from several cricket-playing nations, providing a competitive platform for retired professionals to showcase their skills once again.
