Sheikh Waqas Akram has confirmed that the sons of the PTI founder will be coming to Pakistan, though the exact date of their arrival is yet to be decided.
The senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader stated that there should be no doubt about the children’s return. “The decision to come to Pakistan was made by the children themselves,” he said, adding that “they informed their father clearly that they were not seeking permission, but simply notifying him of their plans.”
Sheikh Waqas emphasized that the PTI founder has not stopped his children from coming to Pakistan. He dismissed such reports as baseless and part of a propaganda campaign. This comes in contrast to an earlier report which claimed that Imran Khan had advised his sons not to visit Pakistan amid security concerns.
Previously, media sources had claimed that Imran Khan, the PTI founder, had advised his sons — Qasim and Sulaiman — not to travel to Pakistan. According to reports, the sons were interested in launching a campaign for their father’s release but were allegedly discouraged from doing so.
Sheikh Waqas Akram’s recent statement counters those claims, making it clear that the decision to return was made independently and with full conviction.
