PTI Nominates Mishal Yousafzai for Senate Women’s Seat

By-election for KP reserved seat to be held on July 31 under Imran Khan's directive

Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially nominated Mishal Yousafzai as its candidate for the reserved women’s seat in the Senate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The by-election is scheduled to take place on July 31, 2025.

According to reports from Peshawar, the party issued the ticket under the directive of PTI founder Imran Khan, after which Party Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali formally released the notification.

Party leadership has directed all other interested candidates to withdraw their nomination papers by July 30 and step aside in favor of Mishal Yousafzai.

Sources confirm that the election was made possible after the women’s seat in the Senate was declared vacant, prompting the Election Commission to issue a by-election schedule.

Mishal Yousafzai has been an active member of PTI, particularly in the women’s wing, and has long played a visible and consistent role in party activities. Her nomination is being viewed as part of PTI’s internal political strategy.
