Bilal Zubair moved from Gujrat to Sharaqpur; Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon appointed new Assistant Commissioner of Gujrat.

Administrative reshuffle across Punjab

The Government of Punjab has announced a fresh wave of administrative transfers affecting several Assistant Commissioners (ACs) across the province. The decision, issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD), comes as part of routine bureaucratic adjustments aimed at improving governance and administrative efficiency.

According to the official notification, Bilal Zubair, who had been serving as the Assistant Commissioner of Gujrat, has been transferred and posted as the Assistant Commissioner of Sharaqpur. In his place, Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon, a Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) officer in BS-17, has been appointed as the new Assistant Commissioner of Gujrat.

New postings in Wazirabad, Nowshera Virkan, and Jhang

As part of the same notification, Jawad Hussain (PMS/BS-17) has been transferred from Nowshera Virkan to assume duties as the Assistant Commissioner of Wazirabad. Meanwhile, Saadia Jamal (PMS/BS-17) has been reassigned from Sharaqpur to Nowshera Virkan as Assistant Commissioner.

Another significant change involves Almas Sabih Saqib (PMS/BS-17), who has been directed to report to the S&GAD headquarters in Lahore after being relieved from her posting in 18-Hazari. To fill her position, Sanaullah (PMS/BS-17) has been appointed as the new Assistant Commissioner of 18-Hazari.

Changes effective immediately

According to the S&GAD notification, all these transfers and postings take effect immediately. Such administrative reshuffles are a common practice in Pakistan’s civil service system, aimed at ensuring dynamic management across districts and subdivisions.

Punjab, being the most populous province of Pakistan, frequently undergoes such rotations to optimize the performance of district administrations. The move is expected to strengthen local governance and ensure timely implementation of provincial policies.
