Putin Gives Trump Credit for Better Russia–US Ties
Russian President Vladimir Putin has directly credited U.S. President Donald Trump for the recent improvement in Russia–U.S. relations.
According to international media reports, during a press conference on Friday, Putin stated that progress in the relationship between the two nations has started due to the efforts of President Trump.
Putin expressed his respect for President Trump and said he is willing to meet him in the future.
He added that such a potential meeting would require careful and comprehensive preparation, but he remains hopeful that it could happen down the line.
The Russian leader further noted that he is thankful to President Trump, whose efforts have helped steer the bilateral ties in a more positive direction.
While acknowledging that full diplomatic consensus has yet to be achieved, Putin said key initial steps have already been taken and progress is ongoing. He expressed optimism that these developments will lay a strong foundation for further improvement in Russia–U.S. relations.
