Water Level Rises in Rawal Dam, Spillways Reopened Once Again

Water level reaches 1750 feet after continuous rainfall; district administration advises public to stay alert

Due to continuous rainfall, the water level in Rawal Dam has risen to a critical point, prompting the district administration to reopen the spillways as a precautionary measure.

According to officials, the spillways were opened once the water level reached 1750 feet to release excess water and reduce pressure on the dam.

The spillway opening operation is being supervised by the Assistant Commissioner of Nilore and is expected to continue for approximately five hours. The water release will persist until the level drops to 1746 feet in order to avoid any potential flooding risk.

To manage any emergency situations, rescue teams, ambulance services, and police forces have been deployed at various bridges and low-lying areas. Relevant agencies are actively working to safeguard the local population and closely monitor the situation.

The public is strongly advised to stay away from rivers, streams, and low-lying regions and to strictly follow the instructions issued by the local administration to prevent any accidents. Citizens are also urged to avoid unnecessary travel during rain and to restrict movement to safe areas only.
