Parachinar: A roadside bomb blast in the Sharamkhel area of Pewar, Upper Kurram district, claimed the lives of four people and injured four others on Wednesday, police confirmed.
District Police Officer Malik Habib said that an investigation was underway at the site. The explosion occurred while the victims were en route to a nearby hill to collect firewood, accompanied by their horses.
The deceased were identified as Nawab Ali, Amir Hussain, Hidayat Hussain, and Manzar Ali. According to officials at Parachinar DHQ Hospital, the injured — Muhammad Konain, Shafaat Hussain, and Hassan Ghulam — were initially treated at the DHQ and later shifted to Peshawar for further medical care.
Medical Superintendent Mir Hassan Jan confirmed the transfers and stated that two horses also died in the explosion. Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and initiated further inquiry into the incident.
