Taron Egerton has finally put to rest the persistent rumours linking him to the role of James Bond in the upcoming 007 film.

Ever since the new Bond movie was announced, speculation around the actor cast as the iconic British spy has been rampant. Names like Jacob Elordi, Henry Cavill, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Taron Egerton himself have all been mentioned in online discussions and media reports.

Egerton Speaks Out

In a candid interview with Variety, the Kingsman star made it clear that he would never take on the role. “I don’t think I’m right for James Bond. I’ve never felt that that was me,” he said.

This is not the first time Egerton has expressed reservations about playing 007. Last year, he told Collider that he considers himself “too messy” for the part, emphasizing that the role demands a specific persona that he does not embody.

The Welsh actor, who is a fan of Daniel Craig’s tenure as Bond, added, “There are so many cool, younger actors who would be great for it. I think it would be wasted on me.” His remarks underline his genuine concern for the integrity of the franchise, rather than focusing on his own career ambitions.

With Egerton ruling himself out, fans can now focus on other frontrunners rumored for the role, while the search for the next James Bond continues.
