Trump Could Play Key Role in Imran Khan’s Release: Qasim Khan

Qasim Khan reveals talks with Trump ally to gain international support for his father’s freedom

London – August 2025: Qasim Khan, son of former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, has said that if there is one world leader who could truly influence his father’s release, it is Donald Trump, the former U.S. President.

In an exclusive interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Qasim revealed that he recently met with Richard Grenell, a close ally of Trump, to seek international support for Imran Khan’s release.

Qasim Khan said that in the past, Imran Khan and Donald Trump shared mutual respect and had positive, open communication when both were in office. According to him, the two leaders aligned on many important issues during their terms.

He believes that if Trump takes a clear stance or directly communicates with the relevant Pakistani institutions, it could create pressure that may lead to his father’s release.

During the same interview, Suleman Khan, Imran Khan’s other son, said that he last met his father three years ago, and they haven’t spoken in the last four months. Qasim described this separation as deeply painful and heartbreaking.

It was also revealed that both sons have applied for Pakistani visas and hope to visit their father soon.
