Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has arrived in Türkiye on a two-day official visit, according to state media.
During the visit, Field Marshal Munir is scheduled to hold a series of high-level meetings with Türkiye’s military and political leadership to discuss issues of mutual interest, including defence cooperation, regional security, and bilateral relations.
High-Level Meetings Planned
According to Radio Pakistan, citing security sources, Field Marshal Munir received a warm welcome upon his arrival in Türkiye.
The visit is expected to include discussions on strengthening defence collaboration, enhancing military-to-military ties, and reviewing the regional security situation. Officials say the meetings will focus on expanding cooperation between the armed forces of both countries in areas of shared strategic interest.
Visit Follows Turkish Military Delegation’s Pakistan Tour
Field Marshal Munir’s visit comes about a month after General Metin Tokel, Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, travelled to Pakistan for official engagements.
During that visit, General Tokel met Field Marshal Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where the two sides discussed professional military matters, regional security developments, and ways to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both military leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defence ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.
