According to a source who spoke to People, the public has only seen one side of what happened within the family.
The source claimed that if people knew everything that had occurred behind the scenes, they would better understand the decisions made by the children regarding their surname.
The insider also said the children have chosen to remain respectful by avoiding public discussions about private family matters.

The source added that Angelina Jolie is no longer interested in continuing disputes with Brad Pitt.
Instead, the actress is said to be focused on helping her children move forward and find peace after everything the family has experienced over the years.
