Sean “Diddy” Combs was mentioned during the ongoing trial of Duane “Keefe D” Davis, who is facing charges in connection with the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur.
On August 20, the fourth day of Davis’ trial, former Los Angeles Police Department detective Daryn Dupree testified about interviews he conducted with Davis while investigating the 1997 murder of Christopher “Biggie Smalls” Wallace.
According to Dupree’s testimony, Davis denied having any involvement in Biggie’s killing but allegedly made claims about the circumstances surrounding Tupac’s death.
Former detective testifies about alleged $1 million payment
Dupree told the court that Davis allegedly claimed Combs had arranged a payment connected to the shooting of Tupac.
The alleged amount was $1 million, with Davis reportedly expecting the money through an associate identified as Zip, who was allegedly acting as an intermediary.
Dupree also described an alleged conversation at Greenblatt’s Deli in Los Angeles. According to the former detective, Davis claimed during their discussions that Combs had solicited Tupac’s murder.
The testimony also touched on the alleged payment itself. Dupree said Davis claimed the money never reached him, and the former detective wanted to confront the intermediary over the missing payment.
However, the allegations presented in court were attributed to Davis and do not, by themselves, establish that Combs ordered or financed Tupac’s killing.

Diddy’s representatives strongly deny allegations
Combs’ representatives have rejected the claims, describing them as false and insisting that the rapper had no involvement in Tupac’s murder.
Sources close to Combs told TMZ that he “had absolutely nothing to do with the Tupac murder.” They also maintained that Combs did not arrange the killing or participate in it.
His representatives further argued that prosecutors would have little reason to call Combs as a witness in the case, saying it would not be useful to the proceedings.
Combs has repeatedly denied allegations linking him to Tupac’s death over the years.
Tupac murder remains a major unsolved case
Tupac Shakur was fatally shot in Las Vegas in September 1996 after attending a boxing match. His death became one of the most closely watched unsolved murders in the music industry for decades.
Davis, a former associate of members of the South Side Compton Crips, was eventually charged in connection with the killing. Prosecutors have alleged that he was involved in the events that led to Tupac being shot.
The current trial is examining the evidence surrounding Davis’ alleged role in the murder. The latest testimony has brought long-standing allegations involving other figures in the hip-hop world back into public attention.
For now, the claims involving Combs remain allegations that he strongly denies. Any determination about their relevance or credibility will depend on the evidence presented and assessed during the court proceedings.
