Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar Praises Humayun Saeed’s Acting Skills
Famed Pakistani writer and director Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has lauded superstar Humayun Saeed, saying the actor’s performance surpasses even that of Bollywood’s celebrated Khans.
Speaking on a recent podcast, Qamar said Saeed’s performance in the hit drama Mere Paas Tum Ho was exceptional and that even top Indian actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, or Aamir Khan could not match the emotional depth Saeed brought to the screen.
The drama, which aired in 2019, became one of the most-watched Pakistani television series, drawing record-breaking ratings and sparking widespread debate about love, betrayal, and morality. Qamar, who wrote the series, credited Saeed for portraying complex emotions with rare authenticity.
A Star Who Draws Audiences to Cinemas
Qamar further praised Humayun Saeed not just as an actor, but also as a successful film producer. He said Saeed’s understanding of audience preferences makes him one of the few stars who can pull crowds back into cinemas.
Saeed’s recent projects, including the film Love Guru and the television series Main Manto Nahi Hoon, have reportedly performed strongly at the box office and on digital platforms. His career spans more than two decades, during which he has delivered several of Pakistan’s biggest television and film hits.
Admiration for Adnan Siddiqui’s Versatility
During the same conversation, Qamar also praised veteran actor Adnan Siddiqui, describing him as the perfect choice for roles that demand a commanding screen presence.
I needed a character who looked like a billionaire, Qamar explained. Adnan Siddiqui played it so convincingly that viewers truly believed he was a wealthy and powerful man.
Siddiqui, known for his refined performances in dramas and films, has also represented Pakistan internationally, appearing alongside Hollywood and Bollywood stars in projects such as A Mighty Heart and Mom.
A Reflection of Pakistan’s Evolving Entertainment Industry
The remarks by Qamar highlight the growing confidence of Pakistan’s television and film industry, which has been steadily producing content that resonates both locally and abroad. With actors like Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui gaining recognition for their craft, Pakistani entertainment continues to strengthen its global footprint.
