Andrew Garfield has revealed that he has a secret Instagram account, despite not having a public profile on the social media platform.
The actor admitted that he is “addicted” to the app and often finds himself spending more time scrolling than he originally intended. Speaking to Variety, Garfield described his phone screen-time reports as “horrific,” saying they remind him of how many hours he has spent looking at his device.
According to the actor, Instagram can easily draw him into a wide range of content. He said he often ends up exploring unusual subjects, including strange ceramics and Japanese crafts.

Garfield also acknowledged that he understands why people sometimes feel frustrated enough with their phones that they want to throw them away.
However, he believes there is a simple way to reduce the temptation to constantly check a device: putting the phone in another room.
The actor suggested that creating physical distance from a phone can make it much easier to resist the urge to pick it up repeatedly. For someone who frequently checks social media, even a small change in routine can make a noticeable difference in how often they reach for their device.

The actor also spoke candidly about his career and revealed that he has thought about walking away from acting “all the time.”
Garfield has had an especially busy year, working on different projects for almost the entire year. He estimated that he has spent around 11 or 12 months working on various productions.

While he remains passionate about his craft and wants audiences to see the projects he works on, Garfield admitted that he sometimes dreams of a much quieter lifestyle.
Rather than spending most of his time on film sets, he said he would prefer to spend his days in the countryside, working with wood, making things with his hands and enjoying a slower pace of life.

For now, however, Garfield continues to focus on acting. He is set to appear in Artificial, alongside his partner and fellow actor Monica Barbaro.
