Previously, the record was held by former American player Chris Evert, who had reached the Grand Slam semifinals 52 times by 1989.
Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz secured his place in the final four by defeating Jerry Lezcano. Top seed and defending champion Jannik Sinner also advanced to the semifinals after overcoming Lorenzo Musetti.
In women’s singles, Amanda Anisimova caused an upset by defeating second seed Iga Swiatek, earning a place in the semifinals.
