A team of specialist doctors is currently conducting a medical and eye examination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at Adiala prison in Rawalpindi. The prison authorities have tightened security around the facility while the examination is underway.

Imran, who has previously stated that he has lost 85% of vision in his right eye, was granted access to the medical team following orders from the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Legal and Medical Oversight

His lawyer, Salman Safdar, visited him earlier this week and submitted a detailed report to the Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi. The report highlighted concerns regarding Imran’s health and requested proper treatment.

Sources confirmed that an ambulance equipped with eye examination tools has been stationed inside the prison to facilitate the check-up.

Examination Details

An initial medical report regarding Imran’s condition has been sent to the Punjab Home Department.

The report includes vital signs such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol.

A separate document focuses specifically on his eye condition, compiled with details from Rawalpindi-based consultants.

The medical staff involved, the timing of examinations, and all relevant details have been formally documented.

Jail authorities maintain a rigorous monitoring system: on-duty doctors check Imran’s vital signs three times a day, with daily records of all medical assessments kept up to date.

The Punjab Home Department has requested a comprehensive report from Adiala prison authorities to keep track of his overall health and ensure proper treatment.
