A Karachi judicial magistrate on Monday extended the physical remand of alleged drug network operator Anmol alias “Pinky” by four days in connection with a murder investigation. The accused, who is already facing multiple criminal cases, was presented before the court after completing her previous remand period.

Court Proceedings and Appearance

Anmol was brought before a South judicial magistrate at the Judicial Complex inside Central Prison Karachi. She was produced after completing a two-day physical remand in the murder case. According to court proceedings, she is already on physical remand in a separate narcotics case until May 22, while her judicial remand in 13 other cases is scheduled to continue until May 30.

Anmol alias Pinky Claims She Was “Picked Up” from Lahore, Alleges Torture

During the hearing, she once again alleged that she had been subjected to torture and mistreatment while in police custody. She also claimed that she was being pressured to “take names” of other individuals allegedly linked to the case.

The court questioned why her medical examination, previously ordered, had not been conducted. In response, investigators stated that they were in possession of voice recordings allegedly showing her involvement in drug-related activities. The accused, however, rejected these claims, stating that the recordings were AI-generated.

Arguments from Both Sides

The prosecution, represented by public prosecutor Shakeel Abbasi, argued that the accused needed to remain in custody for further investigation into her alleged criminal network. Investigators also informed the court that forensic analysis of the recovered narcotics had not yet been completed.

On the other hand, defence counsel Advocate Liaquat Gabol opposed the request for extended remand. He maintained that his client was being coerced into giving statements under pressure and reiterated allegations of forced confessions.

Wider Investigation and CTD Action

Separately, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has initiated steps related to the case. The CTD submitted an application to an additional district and sessions judge seeking access to police records connected to a narcotics case involving the accused.

According to the application, Anmol is also required in a CTD-related investigation, while a co-accused in the same case has already been acquitted. The hearing regarding further remand is expected to continue as investigations progress.
