Registration Drive for Soldier Recruitment Begins
The Pakistan Army has officially opened registration for the recruitment of soldiers, inviting young men from across the country to apply. According to a statement issued by the local recruitment committee, registration will take place in two locations in Gujrat district, Punjab.
Candidates can register in person on October 15 at Government Islamia High School, Malka (Tehsil Kharian) and on October 16 at Government High School, Moinuddinpur (Tehsil and District Gujrat). In-Person Registration Also Accepted
Unlike some recent recruitment drives that emphasized online registration, officials clarified that online registration is not mandatory this time. Applicants may simply appear in person with their complete documents at the designated venues on the specified dates.
A representative of the selection team said that this measure ensures greater accessibility for candidates from rural areas who may not have reliable internet access. The Pakistan Army frequently holds such district-level recruitment campaigns to provide equal opportunities for all eligible citizens.
Eligibility Criteria and Age Relaxation
The minimum educational requirement for applicants is Matriculation (10th grade). The age limit for recruitment is set between 17 and 23 years. However, some age relaxations have been introduced:
One-year relaxation for candidates who are graduates.
Two-year relaxation for dependents of martyrs (shaheed) and for those who hold a valid driving license.
These relaxations are meant to encourage participation from a broader section of society, particularly families with a history of military service.
