TikTok Removes Over 25 Million Videos in Pakistan

Platform says content removed over violation of its Community Guidelines

TikTok removed more than 25.4 million videos in Pakistan between April and June 2025 for violating its Community Guidelines, according to its Q2 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.

Proactive Moderation and Speed of Action

The platform said 99.7% of the removed content was proactively identified, and 96.2% was taken down within 24 hours of being posted, demonstrating rapid response to guideline violations.

Global Enforcement Overview

Globally, TikTok deleted 189.5 million videos during the quarter, representing around 0.7% of all uploads. Of these, 163.9 million were removed through automated detection tools, while 7.4 million were reinstated after further review.

The platform also removed 76.9 million fake accounts and 25.9 million accounts suspected of belonging to users under 13 years old.

Reasons for Video Removals in Pakistan

According to the report, the content violations included:

  • 30.6% – sensitive or mature themes
  • 14% – breaches of safety and civility standards
  • 6.1% – violations of privacy and security policies
  • 45% – misinformation
  • 23.8% – AI-generated or edited media

In the first quarter of 2025 (January–March), TikTok removed nearly 25 million videos in Pakistan, with a proactive removal rate of 99.4% and 95.8% removed within 24 hours.

Globally in Q1 2025, the breakdown of removed content included:

  • 15.6% – privacy and security violations
  • 11.5% – safety and civility breaches
  • 45.5% – misinformation
  • 13.8% – AI-generated or edited media
