Tim David’s Blazing Century Powers Australia to T20 Series Win

Australia defeats West Indies by 6 wickets in 3rd T20, seals series 3-0

Australia secured a dominant six-wicket victory over West Indies in the third T20 International, thanks to a record-breaking innings from power-hitter Tim David, who scored a breathtaking unbeaten 102 off just 37 balls.

In a match filled with fireworks and broken records, Tim David led his team to chase down a massive 214-run target in only 16.1 overs. His explosive knock not only electrified fans but also etched his name into Australia’s T20I history.

Earlier, West Indies had won the toss and opted to bat first, posting 214/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Shai Hope was the star with the bat for the visitors, scoring a brilliant 102 off 57 balls, showcasing his class and composure.

Australia, however, came out with an aggressive intent from the start. Tim David not only smashed a half-century in just 16 balls, breaking Marcus Stoinis’s previous Australian record (17 balls), but also surpassed Josh Inglis’s fastest T20I century record for Australia, which was achieved in 43 balls.

Supporting him at the crease was Mitchell Owen, who chipped in with a quick-fire 36 off 16 balls*, remaining unbeaten and ensuring the team crossed the finish line in style.

For his extraordinary batting heroics, Tim David was named Player of the Match.

With this win, Australia has taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match T20I series, rendering the remaining two matches inconsequential. Meanwhile, in another recent T20 upset, Bangladesh secured a historic series victory over Pakistan, further shaking up the international T20 landscape.
