Trump Confirms: Pakistan Shot Down Five Indian Fighter Jets, Nuclear War Averted

Former U.S. President Claims Personal Diplomacy Prevented Devastating Conflict Between Nuclear Neighbors

Washington: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed that in April 2025, Pakistan shot down five Indian fighter jets, triggering a serious risk of nuclear war between the two nations. According to Trump, he personally intervened to defuse the tense situation and prevent a catastrophic conflict in the region.

Speaking at a reception hosted in honor of Republican Senators at the White House, Trump stated, It was an extremely sensitive moment. Pakistan had downed five Indian fighter jets, but India never acknowledged it. If we had not taken timely diplomatic action, the region could have plunged into a nuclear war.

He further claimed that he personally contacted the leadership of both Pakistan and India to help de-escalate the crisis.

The incident reportedly occurred in April 2025 following a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Kashmir, which left 26 people dead. The attackers were never identified, but India, as usual, blamed Pakistan without providing any concrete evidence. Pakistan categorically rejected the accusations and offered to allow neutral international investigators to probe the matter. While the U.S. condemned the attack, it refrained from endorsing India’s claims, raising doubts in the international community regarding New Delhi’s assertions.

On May 7, India launched a sudden military offensive against Pakistan. In response, Pakistan took swift and decisive action, shooting down six Indian fighter jets, including four advanced Rafales. Pakistan claimed all its aircraft remained unharmed, while India has yet to provide credible evidence regarding its alleged losses.

The skirmish escalated into a full-blown armed confrontation involving fighter jets, drones, and artillery. India reportedly suffered significant human and financial losses before finally agreeing to U.S.-brokered mediation.

During his speech, Trump also addressed other global issues. On the situation in Gaza, he expressed hope for the imminent release of more hostages. On cryptocurrency, he stated that his administration is committed to making the U.S. a global hub for crypto technology. He also touted the passage of what he called the “Big Beautiful Bill,” claiming it will play a key role in shaping America’s economic and investment future.
