Wana, South Waziristan – A police convoy came under heavy gunfire by unidentified assailants in the Wana area of South Waziristan, leaving the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rahman critically injured, while his gunman has gone missing in the aftermath of the attack.
According to police sources, the incident occurred while DSP Rahman was leading a team en route from Wana to Toye Khula. During the journey, armed attackers ambushed the police vehicle and opened indiscriminate fire.

Police further stated that following the attack, the DSP’s gunman went missing, and no trace of him has been found so far. Upon receiving information about the attack, additional police forces reached the scene and launched a search operation, cordoning off the area.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that an investigation is underway, and security agencies are examining multiple angles to track down the attackers. While it is too early to determine the exact motive behind the ambush, a high alert has been issued across the region.
