Defending champions Lahore Qalandars have confirmed a squad change in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11, replacing injured Bangladeshi wicketkeeper-batter Parvez Hossain Emon with Sri Lankan all-rounder Charith Asalanka for the remainder of the tournament.
The change comes as the team prepares for the crucial final phase of the competition, where every match will be important in the race for playoff qualification.
Injury Rules Out Parvez Hossain Emon
Parvez Hossain Emon was ruled out after sustaining a shoulder injury during Lahore Qalandars’ match against Multan Sultans at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The injury occurred following an on-field collision with teammate Asif Ali, resulting in a ligament tear.
The Bangladeshi batter featured in three matches this season before being sidelined due to the injury.
Asalanka Brings Experience and Balance
Charith Asalanka, a left-handed batter and part-time off-spin bowler, brings significant international experience across all formats for Sri Lanka. His inclusion is expected to strengthen Lahore Qalandars’ middle-order batting and provide additional balance to the squad.
He is set to join the team ahead of their upcoming fixture against Quetta Gladiators on April 17.
Qalandars’ Current Form and Standings
Lahore Qalandars currently sit sixth on the PSL table, having won two matches and lost three out of five. Their recent form includes a heavy defeat against Peshawar Zalmi, where they were bowled out for just 97 runs while chasing a target of 174.

With the tournament entering a decisive stage, the franchise will be hoping that Asalanka’s arrival can help stabilize their batting lineup and revive their campaign.
The replacement marks a key mid-season adjustment for Lahore Qalandars as they look to recover from inconsistent performances and push for a stronger finish in PSL 11.
