Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) has strongly rejected a report claiming the presence of Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, describing the information as “misleading and sensationalised.” The statement said such narratives appear aimed at undermining ongoing diplomatic efforts for regional peace and stability.

FO Clarifies Context of Aircraft Arrivals

According to the Foreign Office, the aircraft in question arrived in Pakistan during the ceasefire period connected to the ongoing diplomatic engagement process between relevant parties. The statement clarified that both Iranian and American aircraft had temporarily landed in Pakistan during the initial phase of the Islamabad talks.

Officials explained that these aircraft were used to support logistical needs, including the movement of diplomatic personnel, security teams, and administrative staff involved in peace-related discussions.

Temporary Presence, Not Military Activity

The FO further stated that after the first round of talks, some aircraft and supporting personnel remained in Pakistan temporarily in anticipation of further diplomatic sessions. It stressed that their presence has no connection to any military contingency or operational activity.

“Assertions suggesting otherwise are speculative, misleading, and entirely detached from the factual context,” the statement added.

Continued Diplomatic Engagement

Although formal negotiations have not yet fully resumed, the Foreign Office noted that diplomatic communication at a senior level between relevant parties has continued. In this regard, visits by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Islamabad were facilitated through existing administrative and logistical arrangements.

Pakistan’s Position on Regional Stability

Reaffirming its stance, the Foreign Office said Pakistan remains committed to playing a neutral and constructive role in promoting dialogue and reducing tensions in the region.

It emphasized that Pakistan has consistently provided logistical support where required, while ensuring transparency and maintaining communication with all stakeholders involved in the peace process.

Commitment to Peace Efforts

The statement concluded by reiterating Pakistan’s support for all sincere efforts aimed at advancing regional and global peace, stability, and security. It underscored that Islamabad continues to view diplomacy as the only viable path toward resolving ongoing tensions.
