MUZAFFARABAD: Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan has urged the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), particularly young voters, to cast their votes responsibly in the upcoming elections and place national interest above political affiliations.
In a video message released on Sunday, Aleem Khan described the vote as a sacred trust and called on citizens to exercise their democratic right with a strong sense of civic responsibility. He said elections are not merely about changing governments but about determining the future of coming generations and laying the foundation for long-term regional prosperity.
Investment key to economic stability
Aleem Khan stressed that sustainable development in AJK depends on building a self-reliant local economy. He said that until the region develops strong sources of local revenue, it will remain difficult to increase incomes, launch major development projects, and improve public welfare.
He emphasized the need to create a business-friendly environment that encourages both domestic and foreign investment. According to him, attracting investors with confidence and transparency would expand economic activity and help accelerate long-term growth.
The IPP president added that increased investment would not only strengthen the regional economy but also create substantial employment opportunities for educated young men and women.
Tourism can drive regional growth
Highlighting AJK’s natural beauty, Aleem Khan said the region possesses enormous tourism potential because of its scenic valleys, mountains, and attractive destinations.
He said modernizing tourism infrastructure, improving public facilities, and encouraging private-sector participation could significantly increase local revenues while generating thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
According to him, developing the tourism industry can become one of the strongest pillars of economic growth and prosperity in Azad Kashmir.

Voters urged to judge candidates by performance
Aleem Khan reminded citizens that elections held every five years provide an important opportunity to reshape the region’s future. He urged voters to evaluate candidates based on their performance and track record rather than slogans or political loyalties.
He advised the public to reject politicians who make ambitious promises before elections but fail to address public concerns after assuming office. Instead, he encouraged voters to support leaders with proven records of honesty, governance, and public service.
Special message for young voters
Addressing the youth directly, Aleem Khan urged them not only to cast their own votes but also to encourage their parents, elders, and family members to participate in the electoral process.
“Voting is not just about an individual; it is about the future of your family, your region, and Azad Kashmir as a whole,” he said, urging young people to play an active role in raising political awareness within their communities.
