ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) have signed an agreement to integrate student registration and educational records for Matriculation and Intermediate examinations.
The agreement aims to improve the accuracy of student data while making the verification and management of educational certificates more efficient.
Under the new data-sharing mechanism, NADRA will provide FBISE with key student information directly from its national registry, including students’ full names, fathers’ names and dates of birth.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday, the agreement was signed at NADRA Headquarters in Islamabad in the presence of FBISE Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik and the NADRA chairman.
The authority said the initiative would help reduce discrepancies and errors in student registration while improving administrative efficiency and ensuring the issuance of accurate and verifiable academic credentials.

The partnership also includes plans to develop a secure Digital Wallet, which will allow students to access, store and digitally share their educational certificates.
The digital system is expected to make it easier for students to manage their academic documents while reducing reliance on physical certificates and manual verification.
NADRA said the collaboration is part of its broader initiative to connect Pakistan’s national identity infrastructure with educational records.
As part of the programme, the authority is progressively working to establish digital data-sharing mechanisms among secondary and higher secondary education boards, universities and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) across Pakistan.
The integration is expected to streamline student registration, improve the accuracy of academic records and support the wider digitisation of Pakistan’s education system.
