Discord experienced an outage across multiple regions on Tuesday, September 15, leaving thousands of users unable to access its voice, video and text communication services.
According to DownDetector, reports of problems began at around 10:00 a.m. EST, with approximately 26,000 outage reports recorded by 10:30 a.m.
Discord’s official status page confirmed that the company was investigating an issue involving “session unavailability.”

Discord Support acknowledged the problem on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying the company was aware of an issue affecting users’ ability to connect to the platform.
“Our team is working on a fix, and we should hopefully be fully back up and running soon,” the support account said.
The outage affected users in multiple regions, including the United States and the United Kingdom. Reports from users indicated that the impact varied depending on the platform and device.
Some users said they could still access Discord through the mobile application, while the desktop app failed to load or connect properly.

Discord says fix has been implemented
Discord later provided an update at 11:04 a.m. ET, saying that a fix had been implemented and that the company was monitoring the recovery of its services.
Users who continued to experience problems were advised to completely close and restart the application. Discord also suggested trying the web version to determine whether the issue was limited to the desktop application.
Users were also advised to check their internet connection and attempt to reconnect if necessary.
Discord cautioned against repeatedly uninstalling and reinstalling the application while the outage was ongoing, as doing so would be unlikely to resolve a server-side problem.
The incident highlights how disruptions to major online communication platforms can affect users across multiple regions simultaneously, although Discord’s updates indicated that service recovery was underway.
