ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed at least 11 terrorists in separate operations in Balochistan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, security sources said Saturday.
Five terrorists were killed during an operation in the Gowargo area of Panjgur district, according to the sources. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the militants following the operation.
Six terrorists killed in Chagai
Security forces also conducted operations against terrorists in the Ameenabad and Siah Chang areas of Chagai district.
Six terrorists were killed during the raids, the security sources said, adding that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants.
The operations were carried out as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts against militant groups operating in Balochistan.
KP and Balochistan remain key violence hotspots
Pakistan has experienced a rise in militant violence, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since 2021, when the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan.
According to a report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies, the two provinces remained the country’s main hotspots for violence during the second quarter of 2026, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recording the highest level of violence.
The report said KP and Balochistan together accounted for nearly 96% of all violence-related fatalities recorded across Pakistan during the quarter.
Security forces kill three terrorists in Balochistan IBO
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded more than 61% of the deaths, with 475 fatalities, while Balochistan accounted for 34%, with 265 deaths.
KP also recorded the highest number of violent incidents, with 151 cases, representing 57% of the national total. Balochistan followed with 94 incidents, accounting for 35%.
The figures underscore the continued concentration of militant violence in the two provinces and the security challenges facing authorities in the region.
