Russia has launched its largest airstrike on Ukraine since the war began, firing a total of 741 missiles and drones in a massive overnight assault between Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the strike targeted various military and strategic installations across Ukraine. The attack included 728 drones, seven Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles, and six Kinzhal hypersonic missiles — marking a record-breaking offensive.
Russian officials stated that the primary targets were airbase infrastructure and military facilities, struck with long-range and highly precise aerial weapons.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force described this as the most intense and widespread attack since the war entered its third year. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the strike caused destruction across 10 different regions — including the north, south, east, west, and central parts of the country.
The city of Lutsk, near the borders of Poland and Belarus, suffered the most damage in the strike.
This massive assault comes amid growing intensity in the conflict, with reports of retaliatory attacks by Ukraine on Russian military positions.
