Pakistani actress Areeba Habib claims awards in showbiz are bought, not earned

Lahore , Pakistani showbiz star Areeba Habib has revealed that in the country’s entertainment industry, awards are not genuinely given but rather bought.

In a recent interview, Areeba said she prefers receiving rewards over awards because awards can be purchased, and if she ever needs one, she can simply buy it. She added that such awards hold no value for her if they have to be acquired with money.

The actress explained that during her modeling career she considered awards important, but after stepping into acting, they no longer carry any significance for her. Instead, the real recognition for an actor comes from what colleagues say about them after they leave the set.

Areeba further stated that for an actor, their bank account is the real award. She mentioned knowing several senior actors who own numerous awards but lack the money to pay for medical treatment, which she finds deeply saddening.
