AI-generated actress Tilly Norwood left presenter Piers Morgan and actor Tom Conti stunned after she unexpectedly switched to Chinese during an interview, later describing the incident as a technical glitch.
Norwood has appeared in several television interviews in recent weeks while discussing her upcoming AI projects. However, her latest appearance with Morgan took an unexpected turn when she suddenly began speaking Chinese.
The unusual moment occurred while Conti was questioning Norwood about whether another AI actor would appear in her upcoming project.
After a brief delay in her response, Conti repeated the question. Norwood responded by explaining that the film was a hybrid production involving both artificial intelligence and human creatives.

Norwood initially said the project involved human writers and directors and described the use of AI as a way to explore new approaches to storytelling rather than replace human performers.
When Conti continued asking whether another AI or human actor would appear in the project, Norwood replied that the actors were “digital twins, just like me.”

Morgan, laughing at the unexpected moment, asked Norwood why she had suddenly started speaking Chinese.

Norwood apologised for the incident and attributed the unexpected language switch to a technical problem.
“It seems I had a little hiccup there. I certainly didn’t mean to start speaking Chinese or impersonate Piers,” she said.
“Sometimes my wires get a bit crossed,” she added.
Norwood also acknowledged that the incident was unusual, saying that “sometimes these things happen.”
