A local court in Karachi on Wednesday approved a three-day physical remand of a woman identified as Anmol alias “Pinky”, in a case registered by Karachi South Police.
The decision came a day after the court had rejected an earlier police request for physical remand, after which the suspect was sent to jail on judicial remand. However, police later filed a fresh application seeking custody for further investigation, which the court accepted.
Police seek deeper investigation
Investigating officers told the court that physical custody was necessary to trace the source of the alleged cocaine supply, verify her financial resources, and complete a Criminal Record Office (CRO) background check.
The DIG South informed the court that additional case details related to the suspect had also been collected, as authorities widen the scope of the investigation.
Arrest and allegations
According to police, Anmol alias Pinky was arrested from the Garden area of Karachi. Officials claim she was a highly wanted suspect and had been absconding in at least 10 separate cases.
Police further alleged that drugs, including cocaine and weapons worth around Rs1.5 million, were recovered from her possession. She is also accused of running a drug distribution network in the city.
Alleged voice notes under investigation
Investigators say they recovered multiple audio messages from her mobile phone. In one alleged voice note, she warns contacts about a possible arrest and suggests that her operations would continue through another person if she were detained.
In the recording, she reportedly indicates that a close associate would take over her work and continue using the same contact number.
Change in investigation leadership
In a related development, the SSP South has been removed from the inquiry and replaced by DIG West Irfan Baloch.
According to an official notification, DIG West has been assigned to investigate all matters that emerged during the court proceedings, including alleged procedural violations.
He has been directed to submit his report within three days. Authorities also stated that strict action will be taken against any officials found guilty of negligence or misconduct.

The case remains at an early investigative stage, and further developments are expected as authorities continue examining financial links, alleged networks, and supporting evidence.
