Federal ministers on Sunday strongly criticised Noreen Niazi, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, over her recent remarks regarding Marka-e-Haq, describing them as “completely unacceptable” and contrary to Pakistan’s national interests.
Speaking to the media, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said Niazi’s comments were “regrettable” and “condemnable”, adding that Marka-e-Haq represented a significant moment that had received international attention.
He said the remarks were against Pakistan’s integrity, honour and dignity and stated that the nation rejected such statements.
Ministers accuse PTI of promoting anti-state narrative
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry alleged that the PTI founder and members of his family had consistently promoted what he described as an anti-Pakistan narrative.
He claimed the party had previously attempted to damage Pakistan’s economy through actions related to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and alleged that Noreen Niazi’s latest comments were part of a broader campaign against the country.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani also condemned the remarks, saying Pakistan had given a “befitting response” during the conflict with India and questioned the message such statements sent to the country’s armed forces.
Kayani further noted that no clarification had been issued following Niazi’s comments.
What did Noreen Niazi say?
In her remarks, Noreen Niazi alleged that Marka-e-Haq was the result of coordination between Pakistan’s armed forces and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She also made several claims regarding the conflict, Pakistan’s relations with Israel and the Abraham Accords, as well as comments involving US President Donald Trump.
The government has rejected these allegations, while no independent evidence has been presented publicly to substantiate the claims.

Cyber crime agency issues notice
Separately, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) issued a notice summoning Noreen Niazi over her statements.
According to the agency, she is accused of allegedly disseminating false, offensive and inflammatory content on social media aimed at defaming state institutions and spreading misleading narratives.
The notice directs her to appear before the Cyber Crime Reporting Centre in Islamabad at 12:00pm on July 20.
Authorities also warned that failure to comply with the notice could result in legal action under Section 174 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Background to Marka-e-Haq
Marka-e-Haq refers to the military confrontation between Pakistan and India that lasted from April 22 to May 10, 2025.
The conflict began after India launched strikes inside Pakistan following accusations linking Islamabad to an attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Pakistan rejected the allegations and responded militarily, leading to an escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
The fighting continued for more than 80 hours before ending with a US-mediated ceasefire on May 10, 2025.
The government has described the outcome as a significant military and diplomatic success, while political debate over the conflict continues within Pakistan.
