The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has launched an internal disciplinary inquiry following media reports concerning alleged breaches of discipline and conduct involving members of the national team during the ongoing tour of England.
Amir Mir, adviser to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, confirmed the inquiry on social media, saying the matter was being examined under the board’s existing rules and regulations.
He said the PCB would follow its standard procedures and ensure that all individuals concerned were given due consideration during the inquiry.

The cricket board has so far declined to provide further details about the allegations and has urged stakeholders and the public to rely on official communications.
Mir also cautioned against treating speculative or unverified claims circulating on social media and other platforms as established facts, particularly allegations he said appeared to originate from hostile external sources.
The inquiry comes amid reports that the team’s security officer took possession of the mobile phones of two Pakistan players during their stay in London and kept the devices for several hours.
Sources have claimed that the phones belonged to Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan and that data from the devices was obtained as part of the investigation. However, the PCB has not officially confirmed either that the players’ phones were taken or that their data was accessed.

Similarly, reports suggesting that the players could face heavy fines, suspensions or bans if wrongdoing is established have not been confirmed by the board.
Any disciplinary action would depend on the findings of the internal inquiry and whether sufficient evidence is established.
Major changes to Pakistan’s Test setup
The investigation comes at a turbulent time for Pakistan’s Test team, with significant changes already made during the England tour.
Seven players were reportedly sent home midway through the tour after Pakistan suffered a heavy defeat against England in the opening Test at Lord’s.
The PCB also removed head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul from the touring party following the disappointing result.
The changes have added further pressure on the team as the board seeks to address both on-field performances and matters related to discipline and conduct.
For now, the PCB has not announced any disciplinary penalties against the players involved. The board’s internal review is expected to determine whether the reported incidents constitute violations of its regulations and whether any further action is warranted.
Until the inquiry is completed, the allegations remain under review and should not be treated as proven misconduct.
