Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has criticised recent remarks by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, warning that such statements could further worsen the country’s political environment.
Speaking on Geo News programme “Jirga”, Sanaullah described Bilawal’s comments about Defence Minister Khawaja Asif as inappropriate and urged him to adopt a more statesmanlike approach.
Call for Responsible Politics
Sanaullah said Bilawal should speak as a “national leader rather than promoting hatred for votes.” He also rejected the impression that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) mistreats its party members, saying the party has never had a tradition of expelling leaders “with a kick.”
AJK Situation
Commenting on the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sanaullah said the AJK prime minister had declared the Joint Action Committee a banned organisation, adding that the federal government supported the decision.
He alleged that Bilawal’s recent statements appeared to oppose the AJK government’s decision.
The PML-N leader also clarified that the federal government had neither registered an FIR against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman nor intended to prolong the matter.
Bilawal’s Election Speech
Earlier, while addressing an election rally in Kotli, Bilawal predicted that the PPP would secure victory in the upcoming AJK elections and form the next regional government.

He claimed the PML-N was heading toward a historic defeat and said the future of Kashmir would be decided solely by the people of the region.
Criticism of Federal Government
Bilawal also criticised PML-N ministers, alleging that their policies were harming the people of Kashmir.
He said that until Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif publicly clarified Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s remarks, he would regard them as the official policy of the federal government.
Truth Commission Demand
The PPP chairman once again called for the formation of a truth and reconciliation commission to address the situation in AJK.
He also urged the government to restore internet services in the region, saying that stakeholders had yet to respond to the proposal. Bilawal added that if the commission could not be established, the government should present an alternative solution to address the concerns raised by the people.
