Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Alam Odho has said that investigations into the alleged drug trafficking case involving Anmol alias Pinky could potentially reveal additional high-profile individuals connected to the network.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, the police chief said authorities were expanding the scope of the investigation and urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
Task Force Being Established
Javed Alam Odho announced that a special task force is being formed to support the investigation and strengthen anti-narcotics efforts.
He called on the public to assist investigators by providing information and appearing in court when necessary.
“The fight against drugs is not solely the responsibility of institutions; public cooperation is also important,” he said.
FIA and Cyber Crime Authorities Join Probe
According to the IGP, multiple agencies are now involved in the case:
- The Federal Investigation Agency will examine banking records and financial transactions.
- The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency will investigate alleged online drug-sale activities.
- Existing cases registered by the Anti-Narcotics Force are also being reviewed.
Officials believe financial and digital investigations may help identify broader networks and possible connections.
Arrest and Allegations
Anmol alias Pinky was arrested in Karachi in connection with narcotics-related cases and a murder investigation. However, she has disputed the official account of her arrest, claiming she had been detained in Lahore days before being transferred to Karachi.

Claims Made During Investigation
Police officials stated that preliminary investigations have produced several allegations, including:
- Claims of large-scale narcotics operations in Karachi
- Allegations regarding payments to individuals for protection
- Potential links with broader criminal networks
However, these claims remain part of an ongoing investigation and have not been established by a court.
Focus on Drug Networks
The Sindh police chief also said authorities were distinguishing between drug users and those allegedly involved in trafficking operations.
He added that law-enforcement operations had already led to numerous arrests and seizures of narcotics, stressing that action would continue against organised drug networks operating in the province.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say additional details could emerge as financial, cyber and criminal inquiries progress.
